Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party starts tomorrow!
Mickey’s Not So Scary may start tomorrow but today is Tower of Terror Thursday! ⚡️ I felt like this was the perfect photo and edit to kick us off on the spooky Halloween season. So Let’s dive into details about Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party(MNSSHP).
What to Look Forward to!
👻 When it comes to MNSSHP, I always look forward most to the Hocus Pocus stage show, the parade and the Headless Horseman’s walk-through, the ride overlays, and finally, all the yummy treats!
🌽 Nearly all of the treat offerings this year are new! There is one in particular that is especially intriguing. It’s a cake that looks EXACTLY like corn. In fact, when I didn’t read the announcement of the food (I’m terrible and usually only look at the photos 😅), I literally thought it was corn with candy corn on it and thought “who would eat that?!” 😂 It’s a must-try now.
🏴☠️ Pirates of the Caribbean, Mad Tea Party, and Space Mountain all get special Halloween overlays. My favorite is Space though because they turn out ALL the lights, make it pitch black, and play Halloween music. It’s the best way to ride it in my opinion! Mad Tea Party usually gets different lighting but I’ve yet to experience Pirates with an overlay so I’ll make sure to get details on that for you!
⚡️ Speaking of overlays, I wanted this Tower of Terror shot to have that spooky element, so I overlayed the lightning in Photoshop. I wish I could capture real lightning striking it ha. I wonder how often attractions and icons at Disney get struck by lightning.
Party Details for You and your Kiddos!
🎃 Now, let’s talk about kiddos at the party. It’s a very late event that usually starts a 7 PM and runs till midnight (Don’t forget that you can enter the park as early as 4 PM too). I won’t be taking my daughter to this event but we will be experiencing something similar for Christmas. Even though it’s late, however, it is fantastic for little kids! The only food that comes complimentary during this event is candy but kids can get free bags or bring their own and fill them to the brim! At the start of the evening, they may only hand you a few pieces of candy at the stations but as the night goes on, you can get handfuls! I usually keep this candy and use it for trick-or-treaters on Halloween. Save some money that way!
🧡 The thing I love about Halloween at Disney is that it’s just the right amount of spooky. Nothing about it would scare little children. There are fun dance party areas, all the rides are open with little to absolutely no wait time, and the parade is a blast! All of your favorite Disney characters sport their own Halloween costumes and you usually see some rare characters!
🧛 And don’t forget that you’re encouraged to wear your own costumes! They have some guidelines such as no masks or weapons of course but it is a lot of fun and trust me, you won’t be the only one!
I’ll have so much to show you in photos and on my stories soon so make sure you are following me on Instagram!
Are you going this year? What are you looking forward to seeing the most?
