Happy Birthday to Harry Potter today! Celebrating Harry’s birthday makes me think about how influential his story and those books were and are to us.
These books were the first that taught me how to fall in love with reading. They gave me my first experience of escaping to another world. I still cherish those books and read them every couple of years.
Behind the Shot
This photo was taken and edited in one shot rather than my usual HDR bracketing. I didn’t get much time because a security guard forced me to leave. At times, this can happen, although it’s not very common. The security guards will usually accommodate the shots I try to get. I always try to be conscientous of their job and time as well. However, the experience I had with her was uncomfortable and unnecessary but gives me the chance to teach a valuable lesson.
Not every cast member or team member at these theme parks is going to have great customer service skills. It comes naturally for some, and others have to learn through experience. If you find yourself in a similar situation, remember that your anger towards them at that moment is not going to help you.
My suggestion is to talk to Guest Services. You should kindly and calmly tell a team member what happened so they can address the manner. They are placed in those positions because those team members typically have the customer service skills to deal with those situations. Always remember, you catch more flies with honey!
Now Back to the Candy
Just as the books made the wizarding world seem so real, I wanted the angle of this shot to make it real here in our world. This candy shop has some of the most delicious and unique sweets! They stay true to the wizarding world. You can buy treats such as chocolate frogs, peppermint toads, love potion liquid, and more. There is a fresh bakery display where you can purchase fudge, cupcakes, and even pumpkin pasties. The lighting in the store in this photo makes it so inviting. It just makes me want to walk inside and order one of everything! Which would you buy?
Have you ever been to Honeydukes? How influential were the Harry Potter books to you?
